ADIDAS Group Collaboration Summit 2008

One day Matt called me, "Interested for being a group leader for a short film workshop?"
I said, "Why not! It's a great opportunity, and it's very meaningful!"
Without hesitate, I took the job.

ADIDAS group collaboration summit 2008
It was a Collaboration Summit organized by the ADIDAS group. During the 3 days events at KL Convention Centre, they had this called "15 minutes of fame" short film workshop organized by CZAR Partners. Being one of the 6 leaders, my task was to lead a group of contestant which basically came from different countries, to shoot a 3.5 minutes short film. And by the end of day3, three best films will stand a chance to win the Adidas Academy Awards. Yeah... it's competitive...

After the breakfast, we were ready to go.

Peter from CZAR Partners was explaining about the assignment. The theme for the short film was "We were strangers". After a brief introduction about our background, we were then assigned to the different 6 groups, my group was group3. And then we have 15 minutes to come out with a short story, as well as splitting everyone into different positions. When time's up, we must leave the room and start shooting. We were given 3 hours to finish the shooting, and another 3 hours for me to complete the editing. Imagine that, It was challenging hah!

That's our editing suit. My desk is the one in middle, simple stuffs, laptop and an external harddisk.

On the last day, we were all invited to the Adidas Academy Award Ceremony which was held at the KL Tower.
ADIDAS group collaboration summit 2008
There were total of 3 awards: Best Original Idea, Best Theme Adaption, and Best Collaboration Awards. 3 Nominees for each award... Guess what? All my 3 groups were selected for the nomination! :D

After dinner, the long waited Award Ceremony has began. It was made to be like a famous typical Award Ceremony where you will have a person invited on stage and name the nominees and after the short preview on each film, he/she will announces, "and the winner goes to..."

So! Best Original Idea goes to "Run For Love", my group from day3! :)

Continue with Best Theme Adaption, the winner goes to "Collaboralien", my group from Day1! :D

And lastly the Best Collaboration Award goes to the group lead by Prem. I was so surprised and happy, okay... I know the awards and nominees don't belong me but at least they are groups that I worked with. One thing even surprised was, one of the member from group "Collaboralien"- Ken had came to me that night and gave me his "trophy" saying that I deserved it. I refused but he insisted that I must keep it. Thanks Ken, and to all the groups, it was my pleasure to work with these people, they are friendly and creative, and we all had fun!

What a beautiful night...

Last but not least, a group photo of the team! Nice knowing these guys, they are all great leaders and great editors! A 3 days workshop was indeed tiring, but I am sure everyone has gained something. To me, it was a fun and challenging, meeting with great people, sharing, and worked together to reach one goal, that is a priceless' experience, and eventually, good memories. Ya... we were strangers, but not anymore. :)

Hope we will see each other again in the future!

Our 6th

6th anniversary
16th of April is our big day, and this year is the 6th year...

That day, I brought Xiang to the Shogun, a Japanese buffet restaurant in the Pyramid for dinner. Too bad the restaurant was quite full that day so we couldn't get a table with nice view. Anyway the foods was good, didn't really had enough time to slowly taste them though because we were running out of time for the movie at 9:20pm. I wished that the next round we will have more times, and perhaps more friends to eat along so that we can try more things! :P

So sad I missed the ais-cream part at the end... I was too full already and the also time was up... :(

By the way, I remember I saw "No Photograph" is written at the entrance but I don't care, it's just, instead of using my 40D which is very noticeable, I used my G7 to shoot the pictures, hehe! Here they are!

大人の科学

Here are my 2 new toys to share with you all, something very worth to collect.

These stuff are something so good to be remembered, someday in the future, when everything goes completely digital, these will be your priceless memories.

1. The Reflective Movie Projector:
Replective Movie Projector
Comes with a very thick japanese magazine, too bad I can't read...

Gakken Stereo Pinhole Camera
3 extremely tiny hole for you capture old type photography. Another best thing is, it's really wide!

Here are the result of my first roll. Most of them were exposed up to approximately 2 minutes, indoor. I really love how they turned out, the blurring ghost effects by long exposure are so cool! And look at how wide they are! haha! :D
